A Recollection by Bernadette Uttaq

They call it the thunder house, I'm sure you've heard about it. Would you like to know who built that thunder house? Kakooteenik was my great grandfather; he was the one who built it...

Yesterday when we saw the thunder house, it was not the one he made. That's not the one. I've seen the thunder house he made and it was made with flat rocks. It was not even a full house it was just a shelter. He made the thunder house where the two children Thunder and Lighting became thunder and lighting. He made the house that had no quajaut on the rocks he put up. That one we saw had quajaut on the rocks. Maybe the one we saw was the real house of the thunder and lighting. Because he knew what the two children went through he made the thunder house.

I used to see it, but it's not the one we saw yesterday.
